Have people watched the "That's Entertainment!" documentaries (the part 1, really) about MGM and the studio system? Among too many highlights to mention: footage of a young Judy Garland singing a fan song to her studio-mate Clark Gable, camera panning across all the MGM movie stars at a lunch banquet, 1980s Gene Kelly, Lena Horne's face...I don't know why but this Q&A reminded me of watching it obsessively, along with movies, growing up.

Maybe you have seen it but I grew up watching it over and over again (along with watching ALL the movies) and it's just the best content.
