I’m currently writing this in the sauna that is my apartment, listening to the Michelle Williams’ song from The Greatest Showman soundtrack (not by choice but I don’t hate it). But a few weeks ago, I was in London and Paris visiting friends, spending money, and, like, realizing things. Here is the second and final part of my travel diaries.
You can the read the first one if you missed it or want to refresh yourself. (I also can’t tell if they’re in the same tense or not so forgive me.)
Saturday
My train was leaving Gare du Nord at 9:12 but I had to be there an hour early. Although where I was staying was only ten minutes away, I was too anxious about Uber trouble or traffic or whatever, so I woke up at 5:30. By the time I got ready, I still had an hour before it was a reasonable time to call an Uber. I still had 50 mins of Kicking and Screaming left, so I finished watching that. When I got to the Eurostar waiting area, people were waiting less in lines and more so in clusters. I walked towards the front in hopes of finding a proper line and ended up cutting in front of a bunch of people. Sorry! There was group of French high school kids traveling on the same train and so it was predictably chaotic.
The train ride was fine. I watched a lot of TikTok (like for at least half an hour) and caught up on newsletters. I arrived in London around 10:45 and headed back to Hannah’s. We were meant to be meeting RAFTM Meike Leonard around 1 to go thrift shopping in Pimlico, so it was very much a drop my bags off, wash my face, have a quick goss situation before we headed out.
